Jenny grew up in the same itty bitty hometown that Adam did. Loyalton is situated in a large Sierra Nevada valley in northern California. Jenny’s family’s ranch is just outside town and has been a special place for everyone for many people there. Adam grew up going out there and then later worked there during the summer. We now go out every trip to home to play cards games with Jenny and her cousins while the “adults” talk over coffee and pie. This family is really special and every year we feel like we took part in something special, a slowing of everyday hustle and bustle.

As much as I would love to go into my love for the tradition, this is about Jenny and Jayson.

They met at a church retreat on the volleyball court and re-connected a few months later in the bread aisle at Wal Mart. Jayson asked for her phone number and even though she couldn’t remember his name, she gave it to him. The next two days were full of some serious recon/stalking to figure this out, and luckily she learned it before she saw him again at church. They have been inseparable ever since. This Thanksgiving, what was meant to be a quiet walk on the ranch with just the two of them, turned into a family affair. This didn’t seem to bother Jayson as he asked “Jenny, will you marry me?” at the prayer cabin that was dedicated to her grandfather. I found out through Instagram, like ya do, and my jaw dropped from excitement. After an evening of Jenny dominating at card games, we headed out for an engagement shoot the next day at Sardine Lake and some other areas nearby. It was an evening full of off roading (backwards near a cliff, good job Jayson), hot chocolate drinking, and taking in some seriously gorgeous views. Congratulations Jenny and Jayson, we could be more excited for you both.
