Berkeley Botanical Spring Garden Wedding

Jenny and Luke had one of the most special wedding ceremonies I’ve ever seen. Rather than having one officiant, they had each person in their wedding parties (siblings and friends) perform part of the ceremony. Then at the end, they took turns reading their vows to each other. They did a knot-tying ceremony since they both love climbing. It all felt very organic and calm, especially in the redwoods at Berkeley. Their reception felt like a sweet summer camp, where everyone had come together to cheer them on. Jenny’s mom made her bouquet and did a lot of the flowers, just like she had done for her other daughters. Luke’s sister sang a song that described their relationship during a slideshow of each of them growing up and then meeting each other. If there is one thing that we need to bring back from the weddings of the aughts, it’s slideshows. It’s such a fun way to honor those that made you the person you are. If you can’t tell from my description of their wedding, Jenny and Luke are thoughtful and kind. I’m excited to see the life they continue to create together.
