The Wedding Day
Maile and Kevin both work in set design for some of my favorite TV Shows, including I’m Sorry! They put the same thoughtfulness and attention to detail until their very fun wedding day. We started out at the beach for their first look and wedding party photos. Then we headed over to SLO Brew at the Rock for their ceremony and party. A nearby venue, Flying Caballos, graciously allowed us use their backdrop for some sunset photos. Their guests ended the night with an epic dance party (some of the guests had such great moves that they seemed like professional wedding guests).

SLO Brew at the Rock is a pretty unique venue for the Central Coast. It’s a craft brewery that also host live concerts and other events. So I asked their Director of Events to tell us more about the venue and what it has to offer.

SLO Brew Rock is very non-traditional wedding location. The Rock is an amazing option for couples who are mainly focused on a big celebration that has very little rules in regards to partying (2AM liquor license)! SLO Brew Rock is very proud to be able to offer our wedding couples completely green beverage catering! SLO Brew Rock brews 17+ beers and craft micheladas, has over 5 in-house wine varieties, NAD distills our own SLO Stills whiskey, bourbon, gin, and vodka. Couples can serve all custom, craft made alcoholic beverages that never leave the 4-walls of our space. Because of this, we tend to have beer, wine, and whiskey lovers. The Rock also has a state-of-the-art AV system setup for huge concerts of 500+ guests. There is no better venue for clients who love live music and rockstar production levels!
SLO Brew Rock weddings are all-inclusive, providing: the venue, food, full bar options, all necessary rentals (tables, linens, chairs, silverware, glassware, plates, ect.), staging, sound tech support, custom lighting design, and other fun amenities. So we get couples who are focused on the simplicity of their day: getting married! They get to fuss less over the little things and focus more on the fun.
My favorite elements of The Rock are: approachability, flexibility, and the subtle design touches throughout the property. SLO Brew Rock is an incredibly approachable and disarming space. Couples love hosting here because they know all of their guests will feel comfortable in our laid-back, yet modern and professional environment. We can cater to so many different groups of people!
Lastly, the design elements around The Rock are truly curated to provide a thoughtfully composed space that can be enhanced with very little decor. The custom designed basket lights in the Event Center that came from Australia. The wood panels that were stripped from our owners old barn in Edna Valley and the copper bar was custom made for the space. Everything was made with love and with the intention of celebrations for years to come.
